Its Bigger Than You

Creating Opportunities that Inspire Creativity

IBTU 2011 Planning Activities

I want to personally thank all those who attended our IBTU Planning Activities Kick-off meeting today, 12/16/2010, in Austin, TX. We held a webinar with attendees representing existing and new stakeholders and interns. We also had a surprise visit from interns who wanted to listen in in person. It was a great introduction to our new collaborative partners, The Miracle Foundation and LotuSign; representing the orphan and deaf communities respectively.

You may ask the question, “how does the deaf, orphan, participant, doner and internship community all benefit one another?”, and “how do they all fit together to accomplish IBTU goals for 2011?” Well, you’ll have to access our presentation IBTU Planning Kick-Off. Let us know what you think, and how you’d like to help!

How we branded

“The U Guy stole my heart”

We’ve invested much time and energy in discovering the lasting representation for IBTU. It’s important that you know how this whole thing began, and how we came about our progressive strategy. Give us a shout, and let us know what you think.

There wasn’t too much money to spend, but a need for a lasting logo was a definite, so we chose a crowdsource website called Crowdspring. It allowed us to submit out project idea to a global audience of graphic artists, and have them vote on who they thought projected our idea the best. We submitted a reward of $300 bucks to get it going. In a span of 2 weeks, we had 52 entries worlwide. We narrowed our choices to 2 logos. One definitely had an incredible emotional trigger, unfortunately, though, the ‘shadow’ guy was not scaleable or “long lasting”. It was a difficult decision, but we decided on the ‘U’ guy because of its scaleability, its ability to be easily reproduced on many forms of media, and the graphic artists themselves felt it was the best choice. What do you think?
