Bollywood For A Cause is proud to be a part of this incredible program benefiting Casa Marianella and Posada Esperanza, a new program that provides shelter and support to single immigrant women and their children.
Bollywood For A Cause will be performing on behalf of its Bollywood Global Dance-A-Thon for mid 2011. Traditional Bollywood Dance is fun, colorful and energetic. It's also a great way to get collections of people in community thinking about those causes much bigger than themselves, and in this case, global malnutrition.
Check us out! We gathered on a cold, wet Wednesday night to rehearse for our appearance at On Your Feet World April 24th. Thanks to PangeaBeat for awesome choreography to 'Jai-Ho', and Esquina Tango for the awesome venue.
IBTU believes that redefining the Bollywood industry as a leader in the fight against global malnutrition presents an opportunity to bringawareness to and create solutions for the mismatches found in existing programs. ‘Bollywood For A Cause’ and ‘PangeaBeat’ define opportunities to raise funds and engage community to close those gaps, and change minds towards our interaction with this global challenge.
Hunger is no fun, but we can all play to help end it.
The Go Game Austin helped IBTU and Bollywood For A Cause create an urban adventure game for the community. In the spirit fun and dance, your participation, and %100 of all funds went to support the ICDS and the global fight against malnutrition. It was chocked full of fun scavenger hunt missions, creative hoopla and Bollywood melodrama. The finale was a massive Bollywood Dance along, starring you and your friends!
I want to personally thank all those who came and enjoyed a warm day of Bollywood shananigans and dance on Jan, 30th 2010 in the Warehouse District Austin. You couldn't imagine Austin's curiosity as an army of Bollywood dressed patrons ran downtown scavenging, quizzing, pulling together short films and dancing all in hopes of winning the illustrious prizes granted by our game hosts.
